Eye Health Partners of Middle Tennessee, formerly known as VisionAmerica, was formed in 1991 to provide excellent medical and surgical care for eye disease in a cooperative manner with primary care physicians. In 2001, the center became a subsidiary of Eye Health Partners, Inc.

Since the development of Eye Health Partners of Middle Tennessee, our mission has not changed. We are dedicated to provide the highest quality of eye care available while advocating the cooperative efforts of optometry and ophthalmology through clinical care, education, and research.

Selecting an Eye Surgeon

Undergoing any surgical procedure can be stressful, especially if it involves something as precious as your eyesight. When choosing a surgeon, it is important to choose someone with outstanding knowledge and experience. Quite often, the best source for choosing a surgeon can be your family eye care doctor. He or she has the opportunity to examine and talk with patients who have had surgery by many different surgeons. They can describe their experience with different surgeons and can make knowledgeable recommendations to help with your decision.

Co-Management

Your family eye doctor performs routine eye exams and treats many diseases of the eye. However, when surgical intervention is required, they often refer these patients to an ophthalmologist that specializes the advanced medical treatments required. This joint sharing of patient care is known as co-management. Co-management combines both the skill and knowledge of both doctors to provide the best medical care possible. Eye Health Partners' surgeons are specifically trained in the sub-specialities:
